What is a Monitor?
Monitor एक output device होता है जो कंप्यूटर से मिलने वाले डाटा को विज़ुअली (screen पर) दिखाता है। जब भी हम कोई कार्य कंप्यूटर में करते हैं, जैसे कि डॉक्यूमेंट टाइप करना, विडियो देखना, या फोटो एडिट करना – उसकी जानकारी हमें monitor पर दिखाई देती है। Monitor को हम "Visual Display Unit" (VDU) भी कहते हैं।

Monitor एक सबसे ज़रूरी output device होता है। यह हमारे द्वारा input किए गए डाटा या प्रोसेस्ड डेटा को स्क्रीन पर दिखाता है। नीचे इसके मुख्य characteristics (विशेषताएँ) दिए गए हैं –
- Display Type: Monitor विभिन्न technology जैसे CRT, LCD, LED आदि पर आधारित हो सकते हैं।
- Resolution: यह screen पर दिखने वाली clarity को दर्शाता है। जितना ज़्यादा resolution, उतनी ही बेहतर picture quality होती है।
- Refresh Rate: यह बताता है कि screen एक सेकंड में कितनी बार update होती है। इसे Hertz (Hz) में मापा जाता है।
- Screen Size: यह monitor की physical चौड़ाई और ऊँचाई होती है, जिसे diagonal (तिरछी रेखा) में inch में मापा जाता है।
- Aspect Ratio: यह width और height का ratio होता है, जैसे 16:9 या 4:3।
- Brightness & Contrast: Brightness बताता है कि monitor कितना light emit करता है। Contrast बताता है light और dark colors के बीच का difference।
- Viewing Angle: यह बताता है कि किस कोण से monitor को देखकर भी picture quality बनी रहती है।
- Response Time: Monitor का pixel कितनी जल्दी रंग बदलता है, उसे response time कहा जाता है। यह gaming और video viewing के लिए महत्वपूर्ण होता है।
Types of Monitors: CRT, LCD, LED in Hindi
- CRT Monitor (Cathode Ray Tube Monitor):
यह पुराने समय के monitors होते थे जो बहुत भारी और बड़े होते थे। इनकी screen में glass tube होती थी और यह ज़्यादा electricity consume करते थे। Picture quality ठीक-ठाक होती थी लेकिन resolution और clarity LCD/LED जितनी नहीं होती थी। - LCD Monitor (Liquid Crystal Display Monitor):
ये हल्के और पतले monitors होते हैं। इनकी screen में liquid crystal का उपयोग होता है। यह कम बिजली खर्च करते हैं और picture quality भी अच्छी होती है। ये flat होते हैं और इनका use आज के समय में सबसे अधिक किया जाता है। - LED Monitor (Light Emitting Diode Monitor):
यह LCD का ही advanced version होता है। इसमें backlight के लिए LED lights का इस्तेमाल होता है जिससे यह और भी energy-efficient होता है और colors बहुत sharp दिखते हैं। Gaming, designing और movies देखने के लिए LED monitors ideal माने जाते हैं।

- Resolution क्या होता है?
Resolution का मतलब है कि monitor की screen पर कितने pixels हैं। यह format में लिखा जाता है जैसे – 1920x1080, जिसमें पहला number horizontal pixels और दूसरा vertical pixels दर्शाता है। जितना ज़्यादा resolution, उतनी better clarity और sharpness। - Refresh Rate क्या है?
Refresh rate यह बताता है कि screen एक second में कितनी बार refresh होती है। यह Hertz (Hz) में मापा जाता है। Standard monitors में यह 60Hz होता है, लेकिन gaming monitors में 120Hz, 144Hz या 240Hz तक भी होता है जिससे motion blur कम होता है। - Screen Size क्या है?
Screen size को diagonal length में मापा जाता है, जैसे – 19 inch, 22 inch, 24 inch आदि। यह size उस तिरछी रेखा की लंबाई होती है जो monitor की bottom-left से top-right तक जाती है। Monitor की size हमारे usage पर depend करती है – basic use के लिए 19-22 inch सही है, जबकि gaming या video editing के लिए 24-32 inch या ज़्यादा भी बेहतर होता है।
Choosing a Monitor Based on Specifications in Hindi
जब भी हम एक नया monitor खरीदते हैं, तो हमें कुछ important specifications को ध्यान में रखना चाहिए:
- Purpose (उद्देश्य): अगर आप सिर्फ study, typing या internet browsing के लिए monitor खरीद रहे हैं तो basic LCD या LED monitors ठीक हैं। लेकिन अगर आप graphics designing, gaming या video editing करते हैं तो high resolution और high refresh rate वाला monitor चुनना चाहिए।
- Resolution: Basic usage के लिए 1366x768 या 1920x1080 resolution काफी है। लेकिन high-end कामों के लिए 4K (3840x2160) resolution monitor बेहतर रहेगा।
- Size: Study या office work के लिए 21-24 inch size ideal होता है। Graphic designing या entertainment के लिए 27 inch या उससे ज़्यादा भी ले सकते हैं।
- Refresh Rate: Normal usage के लिए 60Hz काफी है। लेकिन अगर आप gamer हैं तो 120Hz या 144Hz वाला monitor लें जिससे smooth experience मिलेगा।
- Panel Type: TN (Twisted Nematic) panels fast होते हैं पर colors average दिखते हैं। IPS (In-Plane Switching) panels में better color और wide viewing angles होते हैं। VA (Vertical Alignment) panels में high contrast होता है।
- Connectivity: HDMI, VGA, DisplayPort, USB-C जैसे input ports होना ज़रूरी है ताकि आप उसे आसानी से अपने system या laptop से connect कर सकें।
- Adjustability: Monitor की height, tilt, और swivel adjustable हो तो use करने में सुविधा होती है।
- Eye Care Features: Flicker-free screen, low blue light mode जैसे features से आँखों को strain नहीं होता।
