उच्चारण (Pronunciation) – Competitive Exam Focused Explanation
उच्चारण का मतलब क्या होता है?
उच्चारण का simple मतलब है किसी शब्द को सही sound के साथ बोलना। Exam में language section में कई बार pronunciation-based questions पूछे जाते हैं, इसलिए इसका सही ज्ञान होना बहुत जरूरी है।
जब हम किसी शब्द को बोलते हैं, तो उसकी sound, stress, pause और tone मिलकर उसका पूरा pronunciation बनाते हैं। यही reason है कि कई बार एक ही spelling वाले शब्द अलग तरह से बोले जाते हैं।
Pronunciation का Exam में Importance
Competitive exams जैसे SSC, UPSC, Teaching Exams, College Language Exams में सही उच्चारण समझना scoring factor बन जाता है। कई बार passage में ऐसे words होते हैं जिनका meaning sound से clear होता है।
सही उच्चारण से communication power भी strong होती है और लिखने–बोलने दोनों में accuracy बढ़ती है।
उच्चारण के मुख्य प्रकार (Types of Pronunciation)
Language studies में pronunciation के कई types बताए जाते हैं। Exam point of view से नीचे दिए गए 3 types सबसे important हैं।
1. Vowel Pronunciation
Vowels को बोलने में mouth open रहता है। जैसे – अ, आ, इ, ई, उ, ऊ। English में vowels A, E, I, O, U होते हैं और इनके long व short sound होते हैं।
- Long vowels – जैसे “A” in “Cake”
- Short vowels – जैसे “A” in “Cat”
2. Consonant Pronunciation
Consonants वे sound हैं जिनमें हवा रुककर निकलती है। जैसे – क, ख, ग, घ। English में जैसे – P, B, T, D, K आदि। इन्हें clear बोलना बहुत जरूरी होता है क्योंकि एक छोटी sound भी meaning बदल देती है।
3. Syllable Pronunciation
Syllable किसी भी शब्द का छोटा sound unit होता है। जैसे – “Water” में दो syllables होते हैं: Wa + ter। Exam में syllable-based questions कई बार पूछे जाते हैं।

Pronunciation सीखने के लिए कुछ simple rules होते हैं, जिन्हें follow करने पर sound clear हो जाती है।
- Rule 1: शब्द पढ़ते समय vowels को साफ बोलो।

Intonation का Pronunciation पर प्रभाव
Intonation का मतलब है बोलते समय voice का ऊपर–नीचे जाना। यह sound pattern sentence की meaning को clear करता है। Wrong intonation से sentence का पूरा meaning बदल सकता है।
Exam में special करके speaking test में intonation accuracy बहुत matter करती है।
